General Terms and Conditions (GTC) of Driving School Mike Knecht

Driving Lessons:
  • A valid driving license must always be carried.
  • Cancellations or changes must be communicated at least 2 working days before the agreed appointment.
  • In case of inability to attend, delay, or illness, the driving instructor must be informed immediately.
  • Missing or late cancellations will be charged at the full lesson price.
  • Delays or last-minute cancellations caused by the employer will be charged at the full lesson price.
  • In all cases, contact must be made by telephone. SMS, email, and messages via third parties cannot be accepted.
  • Fines that are clearly caused by the fault of the learner driver shall be borne by the learner driver.
First Aid Course:
  • A valid ID, passport, or foreigner’s permit must be brought along.
  • The course fee must be paid in cash before the start of the course.
  • If paid in advance up to 3 days before the course begins, the course fee is reduced to CHF 95.– incl. certificate; payment must be made in cash and at the theory center.
  • Opening hours of the theory center: Monday – Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Doors open 10 minutes before the course starts.
Traffic Awareness Course (VKU):
  • A valid learner’s permit must be brought along.
  • The course fee must be paid in cash before the start of the course.
  • If paid in advance up to 3 days before the course begins, the course fee is reduced to CHF 190.– incl. certificate; payment must be made in cash and at the theory center.
  • Opening hours of the theory center: Monday – Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Doors open 10 minutes before the course starts.
Course Language:
  • The courses are conducted in Swiss German or Standard German.
Punctuality:
  • We kindly ask you to arrive on time for all courses. Late arrival significantly disrupts the course and may lead to exclusion from the course. The full course fee will be charged.
Courses:
  • Registration is binding and must be completed online, at the theory center, or with the driving instructor, and the GTC must be accepted.
  • In case of inability to attend, you may cancel up to 5 days before the course starts without incurring costs; otherwise, the full amount will be charged, including in the event of non-attendance.
  • If a participant who is unable to attend arranges a replacement participant for the same course, no course fees will be charged.
Illness:
  • In the event of illness-related cancellation, we will cancel the registration if a written medical certificate is provided within 7 days. An administrative fee of CHF 30.– will be charged. Without a medical certificate, the full course fee will be charged.
Place of Jurisdiction:
  • Swiss law applies. The place of jurisdiction is Basel-Stadt.
